A new law allowing the sale and consumption of beverages with up to 5.5% alcohol in Romanian sports arenas will take effect this week. Signed by Nicușor Dan, the law permits spectators to bring alcoholic drinks to stadiums starting July 23. It mandates that these beverages be served in paper or plastic cups without lids. Premium areas of stadiums are exempt from the alcohol concentration limit, allowing for catering services. Organizers must promote responsible drinking and display warnings about alcohol consumption. The law aims to align with European practices and enhance spectator experience.
