A hiking event for students from Șura Mare took them through the Lotru Mountains, where a new shelter for tourists and rescue teams is being built. Forty students and teachers from the Andrei Șaguna School participated in the hike on October 8, 2026, exploring the trails of Țara Colibelor, known for its scenic routes and local sheep herding. The hike occurred near Prejba, where a shelter funded by the European Program for the Central Region 2021-2027 is under construction, aimed at providing safety for mountain explorers. Organizers emphasize the importance of such initiatives for youth to appreciate Sibiu County's natural beauty, complementing other outdoor activities promoting active tourism in the region.
