La Timișoara, primul tramvai scurt din noul lot de 10 garnituri a intrat în testele de omologare
The first tram from a new batch of ten, funded by the European Union, has begun testing in Timișoara. These trams, produced by Bozankaya, are shorter and lighter, allowing them to operate on routes with existing infrastructure limitations. Testing is crucial for approval by the Romanian Railway Authority, ensuring safety and compliance with noise regulations. The tests occur at night to minimize disruption, assessing various performance metrics. The municipality expects the approval process to conclude by the end of September, enabling the tram's entry into service. Additional trams will arrive by the end of the year, with all expected by spring 2027, featuring modern amenities and increased capacity.
