La Oradea, primăria a tăiat frasinul contelui Rhédey, vechi de 245 de ani, chiar după ce l-a declarat monument

The second oldest tree in Oradea, a 245-year-old ash, was cut down by the city shortly after being listed as a protected monument. The municipality claims it was completely dry and posed a risk, but locals dispute this, stating it was only partially dry and relatively healthy. The ash, located on Calea Matei Basarab, was intended to be part of a tourist route featuring remarkable trees. Despite being evaluated as medium risk and not in danger of collapsing, the tree was removed. Authorities had previously noted its significant height and size, and recent photos suggest it was not entirely dead, raising concerns about the decision.
