Europe faces significant energy vulnerabilities as winter approaches, particularly regarding gas supply. Romania is experiencing a surge in external gas purchases amid unprecedented pressure on European stocks. The crisis is exacerbated by geopolitical instability affecting traditional supply routes and high costs of American LNG. Germany, with insufficient gas reserves, poses a risk to the entire EU market. Romania, however, is in a relatively better position due to its domestic production and storage capabilities, although it still relies on imports, primarily from Bulgaria. The upcoming winter may bring severe challenges in gas, oil, and electricity supply across Europe, with potential repercussions for the economy.
