La 40 de ani de la dezastrul nuclear de la Cernobîl, particule de combustibil radioactiv sunt încă intacte. Ce au descoperit cercetătorii care au analizat 6 particule

Scientists have analyzed radioactive particles from the Chernobyl disaster, revealing their remarkable stability over 40 years. This persistence suggests that radioactive material is released into the environment more slowly than previously thought. The study, conducted by researchers from Leibniz University and HZDR, categorized six fuel particles based on their formation during the explosion. Each type showed different chemical compositions, influencing their degradation. Despite the findings indicating a slower release of radioactivity, inhalation of these particles remains a significant health risk. The research highlights the need for more extensive data to assess long-term environmental risks.
