Two companies from Sebeș, Kronospan Trading SRL and Kronochem SRL, along with two employees, have been indicted for air pollution and document forgery. Prosecutors allege that these companies released excessive amounts of formaldehyde and nitrogen oxides, exceeding environmental permit limits, even in protected areas. The indictment follows investigations that revealed discrepancies between reported and actual pollutant levels, leading to multiple searches and the seizure of data storage devices. The companies are accused of manipulating laboratory results to appear compliant with environmental regulations. The case will be forwarded to the Alba Iulia Court for trial.
