Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov suggested that Europe could benefit from cheaper Russian gas instead of relying on expensive spot market purchases. Current gas storage levels in Europe are lower than last year, with forecasts indicating a further decline. Russian gas exports to Europe have significantly decreased, reaching their lowest levels since the 1970s, partly due to the Nord Stream pipeline incidents.
