Kievul pregătește alternative la podurile peste Nipru: vor fi construite treceri pe pontoane
Kiev is planning to construct pontoon bridges over the Dnieper River to alleviate traffic disruptions caused by Russian attacks. These temporary structures aim to maintain half of the current traffic capacity while the existing bridges are under threat. The Ukrainian Minister of Reconstruction, Infrastructure, and Transport, Mykola Kalashnik, announced that construction will begin next week, with an estimated completion time of three months. Additionally, a more permanent solution, a tunnel under the river, is being considered, but it requires significant foreign investment. The priority remains the protection of existing bridges from aerial attacks, with ongoing discussions about alternative transport solutions in case of severe damage to current infrastructure. The situation highlights the strategic importance of maintaining connectivity in the city amid ongoing conflict.
