Kelemen Hunor, the UDMR president, stated that the remaining coalition parties lack the necessary majority to invest a new government. He emphasized the need for 233 votes, which are currently not met. UDMR will continue discussions with PNL and USR regarding the proposed government program by designated Prime Minister Siegfried Mureșan. Hunor mentioned that if it becomes clear there are insufficient votes, UDMR will need to decide on the negotiation strategy. He expressed a preference to avoid prolonging the crisis and suggested that Mureșan might consider withdrawing if support is lacking. UDMR aims to find a solution before the parliamentary vote, as they do not wish to participate in a vote without the required majority.
