Bogdan Licu, a judge at Romania's Constitutional Court, revealed his past as a soldier in the former Security Troops during the 1989 Revolution, clarifying he was not in the same unit as SPP director Lucian Pahonțu. He served as a medic and was stationed at the Royal Palace, where he did not carry a weapon. Licu stated he provided first aid to the injured during the events of December 22-23, 1989, and emphasized he never received support from Pahonțu for career advancement.
