Joburile pe care le vor putea ocupa lucrătorii străini non-UE în România, suplimentate în Lista ocupațiilor deficitare publicată în Monitorul Oficial - StartupCafe
The Ministry of Labor has published a list of 289 occupations in deficit, allowing Romanian companies to hire foreign workers from outside the EU. This list includes 53 new job categories not previously proposed. The list aims to address labor shortages in various sectors, including hospitality and construction. Starting August 8, 2026, hiring foreign workers will be restricted unless the occupation is on this list. The list will be updated regularly based on labor market needs and statistics. In 2026, a maximum of 90,000 foreign workers can be employed in Romania, with recruitment facilitated through the official platform Work in Romania.
