Japonia reduce limita de viteză la 30 km/h pe toate străzile înguste din orașe

Japan has reduced the speed limit on narrow residential streets from 60 km/h to 30 km/h to enhance pedestrian safety. This regulation aims to decrease serious accidents involving pedestrians. The measure applies to approximately 870,000 km of roads without speed signs or median lines, which constitute about 70% of the country's roads. Authorities emphasize the importance of driver awareness in these areas, especially where pedestrians and cyclists are present. Despite a general decline in road fatalities, accidents involving children and the elderly in residential areas remain a concern, with around 300 incidents annually since 2021.
