Japonia majorează taxa de rezidență pentru străini de douăzeci de ori

Japan has significantly increased residency fees for foreigners, raising the cost of permanent residency by twenty times to 200,000 yen. New income, pension, and language requirements have also been introduced. Long queues formed at immigration offices as applicants rushed to avoid the fee hikes. These changes are part of a broader immigration policy shift under Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, aimed at managing the growing foreign population. Despite the political sensitivity surrounding immigration, Japan's aging population increasingly relies on foreign workers. The government acknowledges public concerns about the rising number of foreign residents and is working to ensure safety for both citizens and foreigners. Starting October 1, residency fees will vary based on the desired length of stay, with additional requirements for permanent residency coming in April 2024, including basic Japanese language skills.
