Japanese giant Nidec plans to relocate its historic factory from Andover, UK, to Oradea, Romania, affecting around 60 jobs. The company has begun formal consultations with employees regarding this move. Control Techniques Dynamics has been operational in Andover since 1964, producing electric motors and generators. If approved, the relocation could lead to the factory's closure by February 2027. Nidec has significant operations in Romania, including a large electric motor factory in Ștefănești, established in 2018.
