Jaguar Land Rover plans to cut around 4,000 jobs over the next two years to save £1.7 billion amid rising costs and competition. The layoffs will primarily affect office and administrative staff in the UK, where the company employs about 34,000 of its 44,000 global workforce. The savings will support a £15-18 billion investment strategy focused on electrification and modernization. JLR aims to lower its breakeven point to 300,000 vehicles annually, responding to challenges from Chinese electric vehicles, US tariffs, and recovery from a cyberattack.
