Îți poate salva creierul. De ce o mică scădere a tensiunii arteriale face o diferență uriașă

Hypertension is linked to brain changes that can develop over years before symptoms appear. Researchers analyzed brain scans from a clinical trial involving over 9,300 adults with hypertension. Participants aimed for systolic blood pressure targets of below 120 mmHg or 140 mmHg. Those with the lower target showed a 16.9% slower progression of small vessel disease changes. Greater reductions in blood pressure correlated with slower disease progression. However, the study did not prove that lowering blood pressure directly leads to reduced cognitive decline or fewer strokes.
