Italia și-a întărit prezența militară pe flancul estic după incidentul de la Galați, anunță Oana Țoiu

Italy has strengthened its military presence in Romania following a Russian drone explosion near Galați, with Italian Eurofighter Typhoons participating in air missions. Foreign Minister Oana Țoiu confirmed this on Facebook, highlighting NATO solidarity and enhanced security on the eastern flank. An Italian detachment of around 180 personnel and four Eurofighter aircraft was deployed in June, conducting air policing missions alongside Romanian forces. Two Italian jets monitored the drone involved in the recent incident, improving interoperability between allied air forces. Țoiu thanked her Italian counterpart for ongoing support and announced an upcoming ministerial meeting focused on defense and combating disinformation amid hybrid threats from the Ukraine war.
