Italia reduce temporar accizele la motorină - Economica.net

The Italian government has reintroduced a temporary reduction in diesel excise taxes in response to rising energy prices due to the Middle East conflict. This measure aims to alleviate the financial burden on households and energy-intensive industries while maintaining fiscal discipline. The price of diesel will be reduced by €0.17 per liter until August 6, costing the state approximately €125 million. Finance Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti indicated that further measures may be announced in early August, as Italy and Germany face significant energy price increases. Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni emphasized that while this reduction is not a long-term solution, it is a quick and responsible response to the current situation.
