Italian police arrested 17 individuals linked to an international network distributing child pornography on Telegram. An undercover agent infiltrated the group, gaining access to private channels. The network, structured like a multinational company, was led by four Italians and one Swiss national. Authorities seized 283 gigabytes of illegal material, including over 22,000 videos and 34,000 images. The operation, named 'Fly Trap', targeted a Telegram group called 'New Saga' with over 1,000 global users who paid in cryptocurrency for access. The investigation began in 2024 following a tip from U.S. security authorities.
