Israelul era pregătit să doboare avionul Flydubai. Scenariu de răspuns în cazuri precum cele din 11 septembrie • Newsweek România

Israel was prepared to shoot down a Flydubai flight that was attempted to be hijacked, according to CBS News. The Israeli Air Force had a response plan similar to that of 9/11. After the plane descended rapidly, attempts to contact the pilots failed. A command center was established, and fighter jets were deployed while Israeli airspace was closed. If the flight had approached the border, jets would have been sent for reconnaissance. The protocol dictates that a hijacked plane heading towards Israel must be neutralized, a decision that would rest with Prime Minister Netanyahu. Sources indicated that shooting down the plane could prevent greater casualties than a crash in a populated area.
