The Israeli government has officially acknowledged its role in the demolition of 24 Lebanese villages in occupied territories, as part of a security policy. Defense Minister Israel Katz stated that these demolitions aimed to create a permanent buffer zone along the Lebanon-Israel border. He emphasized that the destruction included entire villages, with thousands of homes lost. Katz also mentioned that Lebanese residents would not be allowed to return to their homes until security for northern Israel is ensured. Additionally, the Israeli army has destroyed Hezbollah tunnel systems using significant explosives.
