Iranians are facing skyrocketing burial costs, with grave prices exceeding years of salary, forcing families to sell reserved plots or seek cheaper options in rural areas. In Tehran, a three-level grave is listed for over 30 billion rials, significantly higher than the official rate. The minimum wage makes these costs unaffordable for many, as even the official price requires nearly two years of salary. Similar trends are observed in other cities, with prices reaching up to 34 billion rials in Kermanshah and 18 billion rials in Mashhad, highlighting a growing crisis in burial affordability.
