Iosif Rus, a 110-year-old man from Cluj, is now the oldest living Romanian after the death of Paladia Noja. His age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group. Born on October 28, 1915, Rus has lived through two world wars and had a long teaching career. He was mobilized during World War II and served on the Eastern Front, returning to education after the war without taking any sick leave during his 43 years of teaching.
