Ion Sterian, CEO of Transgaz, announced the ongoing feasibility studies for connecting Maramureș and Bucovina. During a visit to Maramureș, he emphasized the company's role in enhancing natural gas infrastructure. Transgaz, a state-controlled company, holds a monopoly on gas transport in Romania, handling about 90% of the country's gas consumption. The visit included discussions with local mayors about infrastructure investments aimed at improving gas supply and quality of life. Sterian highlighted the significance of the Sighetul Marmației - Vișeul de Sus - Borșa pipeline project, valued at 100 million lei, which will facilitate economic development in the region.
