Ioan Bianu, the founder of the Romanian Academy Library, is honored in his birthplace, Făget, Alba, marking 170 years since his birth. Events include a ceremony at his statue, a memorial service, and a symposium in Alba Iulia. Bianu, who served as the library's director from 1884 to 1935, significantly contributed to its development, acquiring over 500,000 volumes and numerous manuscripts.
