Investițiile străine directe s-au prăbușit cu 82% în primul semestru. Explicațiile BNR pentru scădere

Foreign direct investments (FDI) in Romania dropped by 82% in the first half of 2026, totaling 669 million euros compared to 3.72 billion euros in 2025. BNR's Deputy Governor, Leonardo Badea, attributes this decline to three main factors: dividend distribution, reduced operational profitability due to economic slowdown, and specific circumstances. The negative reinvested profits, amounting to 1.124 billion euros, indicate that distributed dividends exceeded profits. The second quarter saw a particularly sharp decline, with a negative investment flow of 521 million euros, the lowest since 2013. Badea emphasizes the importance of European funds in financing external imbalances without increasing debt, while also highlighting the need for a stable business environment to attract foreign investments.
