Transelectrica SA has inaugurated a STATCOM installation at Sibiu Sud substation, part of a project aimed at enhancing reactive power compensation. The project, valued at approximately 260 million lei, received significant funding from the Modernization Fund and was completed ahead of schedule. The installation of two STATCOM devices, each with a capacity of ±150 MVAr, will improve the stability and flexibility of Romania's electricity transmission network, facilitating the integration of renewable energy sources. This investment is crucial for addressing the challenges of a transforming energy system and ensuring a reliable power supply.
