The Bâlea Lac Salvamont base is undergoing significant rehabilitation, with an investment of 4.67 million lei initiated by the Sibiu County Council. The renovation aims to modernize the facility and improve energy efficiency, ensuring better conditions for mountain rescuers. Temporary relocation of rescue teams has been arranged to maintain operations during the construction. The project is funded through the Central Region Program 2021-2027, with NV Const SRL handling the construction work. This base is crucial for rescue operations in one of Romania's most challenging mountainous areas.
