A geological resource in Brașov County may soon be exploited industrially by Romcim, which plans to invest approximately 31.1 million lei in a volcanic tuff quarry. The project aims to utilize a natural resource for the construction industry, covering an area of 71,306.50 square meters and involving an estimated excavation volume of 2.38 million cubic meters. This investment is located near the protected Racoș Geological Complex, known for its unique geological features. The volcanic tuff is sought after for its lightweight, thermal insulation, and fire resistance properties, potentially reducing supply costs and creating jobs. The project includes plans for responsible land restoration after excavation.
