OMV Petrom has invested €115 million in upgrading the electrical infrastructure at the Petrobrazi refinery to support sustainable fuel production and green hydrogen initiatives. The project includes a high-voltage power line connected to Transelectrica, a new electrical station, and a distribution station. This modernization is crucial for the refinery's operations and future capabilities, including the production of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and renewable diesel (HVO). The new infrastructure employs Blue GIS technology, which minimizes environmental impact. Additionally, a 7 MW photovoltaic energy project is underway at Petrobrazi, enhancing the refinery's energy self-sufficiency and supporting major ongoing projects.
