The Timiș County Council has revised its road infrastructure plans, opting to expand the entire route between Timișoara and Lugoj to four lanes instead of just the segment to Albina. This decision, explained by CJ Timiș President Alfred Simonis, is driven by increasing traffic and anticipated industrial growth near the future A9 highway junction. The project will be divided into three sections, with plans for bypasses to avoid traffic through localities. The council aims to secure European funding for this extensive project, citing previous successful modernization efforts as a model.
