SELI Overseas has established a local branch in Bucharest and is set to begin drilling work on the 1.78 km Poiana Tunnel this fall. The company, part of the Webuild group, specializes in underground construction and has excavated over 1,000 km of tunnels globally. Preparatory work for the longest tunnel in the Carpathians is progressing, with over 80% of the infrastructure for the TBM launch completed. The TBM will be launched from the Sibiu side, contrary to initial plans for the Pitești side. Webuild is also recruiting for the project.
