Intesa Sanpaolo reported record financial results for the first half of 2026, with a net profit of €5.6 billion, prompting an upward revision of annual profit estimates. The bank anticipates a net profit exceeding €10 billion for the year. In Q2, it achieved a net profit of €2.8 billion, the highest quarterly result in its history. The bank plans to distribute approximately €9.4 billion to shareholders through dividends and share buybacks. Strong performance in net interest income and a robust credit growth of 5% were noted, alongside a record low cost/income ratio of 35.9%. The bank aims to reach €2 trillion in client financial assets by 2029, ahead of schedule, and is launching a recruitment program for 13,100 young people.
