The Alba Iulia Local Council has approved a ban on gambling activities in the city, with a one-year transition period. During this time, existing operators can apply for operating licenses, which will be valid for 12 months. The ban will take effect in August-September 2027, allowing only traditional lottery games from the National Lottery. The council's decision was made with 15 votes in favor out of 20 present. Operators must submit their applications within 30 days of the decision, and the annual fee for the operating license is set at 500 lei per square meter.
