Starting September 1, Romanian patients can book appointments with specialists online through the E-SanatateaMea platform, streamlining access to healthcare services. Patients can select doctors from across the country, although they cannot choose a specific doctor in shared practices due to current legislation. The platform will evolve with additional features, including telemedicine services and extended prescriptions. Patients still need to visit their family doctor for referrals and prescriptions, maintaining the role of primary care in the healthcare system.
