INTERVIU – De la ochiul modern la imaginea care ne privește. România de azi, într-un secol de artă

The exhibition "Images of History, Histories of the Image" showcases over 90 Romanian artists and their works from the last century, open at MARe until May 2027. Curated by Ruxandra Demetrescu, it features a diverse range of art forms, including painting, photography, and video. The exhibition is structured around four significant periods in Romania's history, starting with a unique piece by Nicolae Tonitza and including works from avant-garde artists like Ion Țuculescu and contemporary figures such as Adrian Ghenie. The aim is to create dialogues between historical and contemporary art, highlighting the continuous need for innovation in Romanian art.
