Inteligența artificială găsește noi căi de a transforma dioxidul de carbon în combustibil / Aproape 10.000 de reacții chimice, identificate de IA

Researchers at the Indian Institute of Science have identified nearly 10,000 chemical reactions for converting carbon dioxide into fuels and industrial substances using artificial intelligence. This study reveals previously overlooked chemical mechanisms and could lead to more efficient catalysts for CO2 transformation into useful products like methanol. The team expanded their initial database of 152 reactions to 9,389 by utilizing advanced simulations and AI models. Their findings indicate a significant increase in the estimated amount of CO2 that can be transformed, and they discovered a surprising mechanism where hydrogen can be transferred directly as H2 molecules during reactions. This research may enhance various industrial processes, including nitrogen reduction and water splitting.
