Institutul de Cercetare în Inteligență Artificială al UTCN, inaugurat la Cluj Napoca / Are 33 de laboratoare și pregătește colaborări cu firme din telecom, semiconductori și auto

The new Artificial Intelligence Research Institute at the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca will be inaugurated on November 18. The center, covering 14,000 square meters, will feature 33 laboratories. Although construction was initially set to finish in November 2025, it has been postponed to March 2026, with a budget of approximately 141.8 million lei. The institute will leverage the university's strong human resources, with around 400 doctoral students focused on AI. Collaborations with companies in telecommunications, semiconductors, and automotive sectors have already begun. The institute aims to enhance partnerships with small and medium enterprises, focusing on research and development rather than direct competition with established AI firms.
