Interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan announced the signing of orders for two modernization programs totaling 650 million euros, aimed at enabling public institutions to produce and store energy for their own use. The first program allocates 500 million euros for the installation of photovoltaic panels with storage batteries, while the second program, worth 150 million euros, targets institutions with existing renewable energy systems to add storage capabilities. Eligible beneficiaries include municipalities, public hospitals, and universities, with funding covering up to 100% of eligible costs. Applications open on September 11, 2023, and must be submitted by November 6, 2026, or until the budget is exhausted. These initiatives aim to lower energy bills and enhance the use of renewable energy.
