Public institutions can apply for funding for green energy projects starting September 28, with a total budget of 650 million euros. Applications can be submitted until November 20, 2026, through the AFIR online system. The funding includes 500 million euros for renewable energy production and 150 million euros for energy storage projects. State aid can cover up to 100% of eligible costs, with a maximum of ten million euros per beneficiary. Specific guidelines for eligible expenses are available on the AFIR website.
