Inspectorii ANAF au stopat un mecanism de fraudă fiscală în comerțul cu autoturisme second-hand

A complex investigation by the Romanian tax authorities uncovered a tax fraud scheme involving over 2,000 second-hand cars imported from the EU. The scheme resulted in an estimated loss of over 26 million lei to the state budget. Fraudsters used 'missing trader' companies in Hungary and Slovakia to evade VAT, continuing operations even after tax codes were canceled. Cars were sold in Romania with falsified documents to hide their true origin and reduce taxable income. Ongoing checks aim to fully assess the illicit activities and recover the losses.
