INSP: 117 români s-au îmbolnăvit cu virusul West Nile. Recomandări pentru populație

According to the National Institute of Public Health, 117 Romanians have contracted the West Nile virus in the last four months, with the majority aged between 60 and 69. The virus primarily spreads through mosquito bites, and there is currently no specific vaccine available. Symptoms include fever, headaches, and fatigue, with severe cases requiring hospitalization. Most cases are reported in urban areas, particularly in Bucharest and Ilfov. The INSP advises the public to wear long-sleeved clothing and use mosquito repellents to prevent infections.
