In July 2026, over 1,000 insolvency cases were opened in Romania, marking a 26% increase from the previous year. Bucharest leads with 248 cases, while Ilfov and Bihor also saw significant rises. Some regions, however, reported declines in insolvency filings. The transportation and retail sectors experienced the highest growth in insolvencies, with increases of 150% and 89%, respectively.
