In the first five months of 2026, the turnover in market services provided to the population decreased compared to the same period in 2025, primarily due to declines in gambling, beauty salons, and the hospitality sector. The overall decrease was 9.2% in gross terms and 8% adjusted for working days and seasonality. The tourism sector was the only one to show growth, with a 20.5% increase. In May alone, turnover fell by 7.6% year-on-year, driven by significant drops in gambling and beauty services. However, tourism agencies reported a 31.4% increase.
