In the past year, diesel prices rose by 34.61% and gasoline by 25.49%, according to the National Institute of Statistics. Inflation decreased to 6.2% in August 2026, with the highest price increases in services at 11.28%. Non-food goods saw a 6.36% rise, while food prices increased by 2.62%. Coffee prices surged by 15.02%, followed by eggs at 10.88%. Significant price drops were noted for fresh fruits (-18.18%) and potatoes (-15.21%). Fuel prices overall increased by 17.03%, with electricity rising by 1.82%. Service tariffs, including water and sanitation, rose by 14.12%.
