INS: Numărul turiștilor în România, în scădere în 2026

In the first seven months of 2026, Romania recorded nearly 7.5 million tourist arrivals, a 1.6% decrease from 2025. Romanian tourists made up 79.9% of the total, while foreign visitors accounted for 20.1%. Overnight stays also fell, totaling 15.5 million, down 3.1% from the previous year. July showed improvement with 1.9 million arrivals, a 6.2% increase compared to July 2025. Germany was the top source of foreign tourists, followed by Italy and the USA. Bucharest attracted the most visitors, with Constanța and Brașov following. The occupancy rate for accommodations was 26%, down 2.3 percentage points from 2025.
