According to INS data, Romania's electricity consumption decreased by 11.3% in the first eight months of the year due to high bills. Overall national energy consumption fell by 4%, with public lighting down by 14.2%. Despite reduced consumption, total energy resources slightly increased by 0.5%. Hydropower production rose by 13.5%, while nuclear and thermal energy production declined significantly. This shift indicates a change in behavior among both households and public administrations, driven by rising energy costs.
