The Romanian government is enhancing the capacity of the Digitalization Authority (ADR) to validate digital identities through ROeID due to a backlog of requests. Currently, 25,000 validation requests are pending, with an average of 10,000 new requests daily. To address this, 19 additional staff members will join the existing 40 trained personnel. The validation process is rigorous to prevent fraud and identity theft. The long-term goal is to automate identity validation securely. The eSănătateaMea platform, operational since September 1, allows citizens to access health services via ROeID, ensuring the protection of personal medical data. Users must activate their ROeID account and follow specific steps to access the platform.
