Inovație: Plasticul biodegradabil, transformat în îngrășământ după utilizare

Plastic waste is a significant global ecological issue, with projections indicating a tripling of plastic use by 2060. Researchers from Chiba University have developed a biodegradable plastic that can be converted into fertilizer after use. This plastic, treated with aqueous ammonia, transforms into isosorbide and urea, supporting plant growth. The team also created a dual-function plasticizer that enhances flexibility while maintaining the ability to be converted into fertilizer. This innovative approach aims to actively address plastic waste and resource depletion, promoting sustainable agriculture. The findings suggest a future where plastic waste is routinely recycled into valuable resources for food production.
